For myself, as well as what my matchmaker colleagues tell me, it is unrealistic expectations.
Unrealistic Partner Expectations for Matchmakers
They think, “I’m paying you. Now you’re a magician instead of a matchmaker. Produce me George Clooney or Heidi Klum with a private jet.”
I think it’s unrealistic expectations and not realizing that you’re looking for a person.
Unrealistic Partner Expectations, There Are Bigger Concerns
I watch Nancy Grace and all of these mysteries on TV. You see men murdering their wives in an argument to get their life insurance. It’s dangerous out there.
People are cheating on each other. A high percentage of people cheat. It’s just a fact.
You want to find someone who you will not have to get a divorce from or be beaten up, killed or abused. You want to choose carefully.
Ditch Unrealistic Partner Expectations
You have to look beyond the height, income and the looks.
Of course, you want to be attracted to that person, but think about the character and personality of the person that you want to be with.
As we get older, the looks will fade. You want to be a partner with your husband or wife. You want to work on things together and grow old together as a team.
I think people are looking outside of themselves for someone to fix them, pay the bills or fill a hole.
Those are the pitfalls of people when they’re out there looking for a relationship for the wrong reasons and not thinking about the most important qualities and reasons for getting into a relationship.
