(1:52): As a professional dating coach and matchmaker to successful men and women, I’m fascinated by insights supporting people’s efforts to evolve into the best versions of their authentic selves.
I really enjoyed listening to your What Men Want Interviews. It was a fabulous idea.
I’m excited to explore some of your insights. Before jumping into your juicy insights, I’m also fascinated that you’re a Vedic astrologer.
I thought our listeners would be really interested in learning how you got into Vedic astrology. Tell us about that.
Carol Allen
(2:29): They’re probably wondering what it is. A lot of people haven’t heard of it.
Vedic astrology is the system of astrology of India. It’s believed to be the oldest system. India doesn’t get the credit that it deserves.

Vedic Astrology Finds You
(4:22): A lot of our listeners are of South Asian background. I think a lot of them will find it fascinating that someone not from the culture has embraced this and has expertise in it.
How does one become a Vedic astrologer?
Carol Allen
(4:42): That is an excellent question. Many are called, few are chosen. There are various ways.
When I first began studying, I was in Los Angeles, California. I’m a California valley girl. There are no Indians in my family. I have the most beautiful Indian clients. I’m always joking with them that a need to look like them to be brand-aligned.
There was nothing in my childhood or background.

Vedic Astrologers Help Love
(9:56): That is so interesting. What are the common reasons that people seek your services as a Vedic astrologer? Is it mostly relationship-oriented?
Carol Allen
(10:07): Completely. That’s what got me into coaching. I noticed this very quickly.
People would call and say, “I only want to talk about my real estate transaction,” or “I only want to talk about my health.”
The session would always dissolve into a boy-girl, boy-boy or girl-girl conversation.
I would say that 99.9% of the time, the thing I noticed people wanted help with the most was love.

Women Seeking Therapy: 3 Kinds
(11:25): As a relationship expert and Vedic astrologer, what are the one or two of the most frequently asked questions you get from women who seek your services?
Carol Allen
(11:37): It’s awful to say, but in my experience, there are only nine people in the world. There are not even twelve. There is not even one for each sign. There are nine people. I have the same nine conversations.
Really, I have the same three conversations. As a matchmaker, I’m sure you see the same thing.

(17:25): Let’s switch gears. I’d love for you to share with our listeners what led you to create What Men Want? What led to this great idea?
Carol Allen
(17:41): Years ago, I was fortunate to have a radio show, just like you. Every week, I interviewed a different expert.
The focus of the show was just relationships. I befriended and got to know all of these incredible relationship experts. Because that’s my passion too and what I do as well, we would always have a lot in common and hit it off.
Some of my closest friends are other relationship experts. I’ve even created a networking group in Los Angeles for relationship experts.
We all go out to dinner, have drinks and share information. I have social relationships with all of these amazing male relationship experts. They have clients all over the world. They give seminars. They have books.
I loved picking their brains at these social events about men.

Men Want Relationships
(20:28): It’s directly from them. What are one or two of the things that most or all of the male relationship experts that you interviewed agreed on?
Carol Allen
(20:45): There is a really sweet thing they agreed on that is such a relief to women.
I don’t know what your experience has been, Jasbina, but when you watch movies and TV, we all hear that men want their freedom.
Men resist marriage for as long as they possibly can. Men have to be really blown away to want to give up the freedom to date lots of people.

When Should You Sleep With Him?
(22:31): In my experience, those women are coming to me. Tell me one or two things that the eight guys that you interviewed tended to have different opinions on.

(22:56): One of my main questions is, “When is it okay to sleep with you?”
There are many different opinions about this with experts.

Men Want What You Want!
(26:27): It is the number one reason why the guys didn’t call back after a first date.
She uses the term “boss lady.” You’re using the same language.
There is no database on each other. Every word and nuance can be taken out of context.
Tell me one thing that surprised you. Before you interviewed them, you knew where they were coming from. Was there anything that surprised you most about what any of the guys said?
Carol Allen
(27:22): Because I’ve known them for years and I have male clients, I wasn’t very shocked. I think the information that moved me the most was the information from the sex expert.
His name is Alex Allman. He had done a survey of 5,000 men about what turns them on sexually. He had about 50 things that men could choose from.

(30:27): Carol, I really appreciate you sharing your insights. It’s been really interesting. I’m wondering if there is any last thought or take-home message that you’d like to leave our listeners with.
Carol Allen
(30:38): The thing I’m the most excited about lately is this new report I’ve created to help women and men determine this capacity thing. Like I said, you can meet a great guy. You can get along great. You can meet a great woman. You can get along great. They can have all of these qualities but maybe they can’t be a good partner. That can take you six months, nine months or a year. Then you might blame yourself for that.
