How To Get Into Investment Banking: Good School

I was very lucky in my professional career because I went to a school like Wharton, which is very well hooked-in to the investment banking community.

What I also learned after working within these organizations is that there are plenty of people who haven’t gone to some of these schools.

There are plenty of people who have gone to non-business undergrad schools.

 

How To Get Into Investment Banking: Make The First Move

Reach out to them. Take advantage of that alumni network. Take advantage to the alumni opportunities that you have.

Don’t be afraid to do a cold email or cold call. You’d be very surprised at how willing people are to talk to junior folks and impart any sort of advice or wisdom.

 

How To Get Into Investment Banking: Don’t Be Afraid to Reach Out

My biggest piece of advice is not to be afraid to reach out. You never know what’s going to happen.

You never know what’s going to come of a phone call or introduction.
